The Art of Falling is known as "Ukemi" (pronounced ewe-ke-me), and is an important skill practiced in the martial art of Aikido. Ukemi keeps people safe by teaching them how to direct the impact of a fall safely, across large areas of the body. Ukemi, when combined with a practice of mind and body training, teaches us how to use our inner strength to move with agility and confidence, no matter the environment.
Do you ever feel unbalanced by unexpected obstacles? Do you ever wish there was a different way to respond to a fall? Or, better yet, to prevent a fall?
Ukemi training provides you with physical and mental training that will prepare you to meet an unexpected loss of balance with grace.
A practitioner of Ukemi uses redirects the energy of a fall across the body, and lands safely, without pain.
Want to fall without landing on your wrist? Landing on your hand is one of the most common responses to falling backward. Don't catch that fall and injure your wrist, redirect it!
Building your inner strength through dedicated ukemi and mind-body practice makes this possible.
